Park City Weekend

Last weekend we went up to Park City with my fam. It was a nice little getaway! We shopped our hearts out (thank you outlets!), ate delicious food, swam, roasted s'mores, hot tubbed, and hung out. We stayed at the MountainSide Marriott (thanks mom), and let me tell you...that place is BEAUTIFUL.

Here are some pics that sum up the trip:

Happy one year!

Happy Anniversary....well 10 days ago. I keep telling myself I'll be a better blogger, but let's get real...it's not happening.
Last week Jordan and I went to St. George to celebrate our FIRST anniversary. It was pretty surreal. I honestly feel like we just started dating. It's amazing how fast the time has flown by. I feel so lucky that I was able to be sealed to my best friend for time and all eternity. I honestly don't think I could have chosen a better person to marry.
I've heard people say the first year of marriage is the hardest...but I completely disagree. Yeah it's weird getting used to living with someone, but it's kinda like having a sleepover with your best friend every night. There's times we bug each other or get on each other's nerves, but I feel like we fight less than we did when we were dating and we get over things more quickly.
I don't think there's anyone who can make me laugh as hard as he can or can make me as happy as he can. I definitely found a keeper. I look forward to many more years with this one!

We left for St. George on Thursday and stayed until Monday. We went hiking, swimming, and shopping. For our anniversary we went to see the Avengers (which totally rocked) and went to dinner at the Olive Garden. I was planning on taking a lot of pictures, but our camera wanted to be retarded and died at the movie theaters even though I charged it the day before....lame!

The BEAUTIFUL ring he gave me! My birth stone-blue topaz

The sweet watch I gave him (that I found for a KILLER deal)

Sweet Tooth Fairy cupcakes to celebrate the occasion...I maybe had to get one every day :)
Needless to say...we had a fun weekend and an amazing anniversary!

lust list

it might be the warming weather, or maybe just the fact that I spend WAY too much time on the internet, but I have a long & growing list of things that I need- okay want!

TOMS! they have come out with way too many cute pairs lately & I'm dying for these two
I was on pinterest and came across this baby at Old Navy...which I maybe bought today, but only because I found a pretty sweet promotion online (I'm a sucker for bright colors...so sue me!)
I also found these pants online for $26.90...I don't think you can beat that! I'd like them in aqua, coral, pink, and probably citrus :)
As of late...I mostly love dresses. Why you ask? Oh maybe because all I have to do is throw a dress on along with some leggings & I'm good to go! Simple!

Last but not least...Jordan & I will be going to St. Thomas in August with my family. I CAN'T WAIT! Really though...I think I've been begging Jord to take me on a trip for the past 4 months...so I think I really NEED this swimsuit!
not too much to ask for right ;) looks like I'll be saving up my moneys for the next little while

Be my Valentine

Let me start out by saying I've become a little obsessed with seasonal decorations. I blame it all on Pinterest! Anyways, I was able to make a few decorations for our place. I'll be honest...I'm pretty proud of myself! I never do stuff like this. They're not much to brag about, but I'm hoping I'll only get better.
(Okay so I didn't make the Love one, but the price tag was what inspired me to make my own! haha)
This was our first Valentine's Day being married, and I loved every minute of it! Yes, we were engaged last year, but it's just not the same (if you know what I mean haha). My sweet husband made reservations at the Macaroni Grill (which just so happens to be one of my favorite restaurants) more than a WEEK BEFORE Valentine's day. I was very impressed! Too bad once we got there they somehow didn't have us on the list and said we'd have to wait for 45 minutes! It's a good thing my husband always gets what he wants because after he angrily spoke to the manager, we were sitting at a table 5 minutes later. Boo yeah!
@ dinner
After dinner, we headed home to exchange gifts. I got him a Lebron jersey (thanks to a killer deal I found on Ebay) and he got me a Karl Malone jersey. Before you judge us and permanently brand us as "unromantic" let me explain: Jordan has a man crush on Lebron James (don't worry he openly admits this), he is also in love with jerseys, so it only made sense to get him this jersey. When I was in elementary school I was OBSESSED with Karl Malone. I may or may not have come up with a whole plot to get rid of his wife...don't judge me. Jord knew he was one of my faves, which is why he got me his jersey. Anyways, what I'm trying to explain is that in MY opinion these gifts were quite romantic! ha
Oh, I can't forget! My husband  also gave me some BEAUTIFUL roses!
We then changed into our sweats and went to go see The Vow. I was really excited to go to the movies in my sweats and even more excited to see The Vow! It didn't disappoint! We both loved it! I'd also like to mention that although I thought I would, I didn't cry at ALL during the movie. (If you knew the way my new birth control has been making me act lately, you'd be very impressed!)
I'm so lucky to have such an amazing husband. Honestly he's the best! He's constantly thinking of things he can do for me. He's very supportive, caring, selfless, helpful, sweet, and hilarious. Every day I thank my Father in Heaven that I was able to marry my best friend!
I thought it was supposed to be a goofy picture....whoops!

I'm also grateful for my sweet mom. She's always given all of the kids little gifts for Valentine's day. We got some Cutler's cookies (it's a tradition!) and a gift card to Kneaders! Call me biased, but I think I have the best mom in the world! She's amazing, and I can only hope to be half the woman she is one day.
I'm also grateful for my mother-in-law. She gave us a cute cookie decorated with our name on it. It was delicious! She's always thinking of us and doing the nicest things (like bringing me back my favorite cupcake from St. George every time she goes). We're lucky to have such an amazing family!

St. Geeeezy

Okay, we LOVE St. George. It's our favorite place to pack up and head to even if it's just for the weekend. It's not too far away and the weather is always warmer down there. Jordan's dad has a house in Washington and he's nice enough to let us stay there whenever we like! We drove down there Thursday afternoon and stayed until Monday. It was a much needed getaway!

Our friends Tj and Kat live down there so we got to hang out with them. They're getting married in San Diego on March 10, and we can't wait- we're so happy for them!

Dinner at Pancho and Lefty's

Love this guy

While we were down there the weather was PERFECT for being outside! We were able to go on bike rides, play tennis, and swim (okay maybe it was an indoor pool).
Heading out on our bike ride

It's so pretty down there!

Last summer, we started playing tennis. Growing up I took a few tennis lessons, and let's just say I was awful. I never got to play the games the "other" kids in the class were playing. One day I asked my teacher if I could play with the other kids and she just laughed and told me I wasn't ready. Needless to say, when Jordan suggested to start playing I thought it was a terrible idea. We'd hit the courts every chance we got and we're not too shabby! It's something we'll be able to enjoy together for years to come.

Ever since our first trip down to St. George together when we were dating we've always listened to Ben Kweller on the ride home. It's now our tradition. The drive home just wouldn't be the same without good old Ben!

Okay, so I'm a little reluctant to share this story...but I guess now that it's over it's maybe a little funny. We got to St. George at about 8:30 on Thursday-right in time for the Jazz game, so clearly the first thing we did was turn on the game. As we were watching the game I realized the fire place was on and thought to myself, "wow that was really sweet for Jord to turn the fire on for me" (this is because I'm always freezing and he's ALWAYS burning hot). Later that night when we were heading to bed I asked him how to turn the fireplace off. He looked at me all weird and said, "I don't know, you were the one who turned it on" I then told him I hadn't turned it on, I thought he turned it on for ME.
After I realized neither of us had turned on the fireplace of course I started thinking someone else HAD to be in the house. (Let's just say I have quite the imagination) Anyways we head to bed and I ask Jordan to lock the door to our room (because I'm convinced someone is going to come kill us in the middle of the night, but maybe I leave that part out). He tries to lock it, but it doesn't work (which I conclude is because whoever is in the house broke the lock so they could come get us in the middle of the night when we least expect it). Jordan zonks out after a few minutes and I'm left WIDE AWAKE imagining all the terrible things that are going to happen when this person decides to come out of hiding and kill us.
Oh, I can't forget to mention that I SWEAR I heard people walking around the kitchen. So time goes by and I'm practically in tears just waiting for someone to come kill us. Here's an example of what I was thinking: Oh shoot, BOTH of our phones are charging on the floor across the room. So when the killer comes in here we won't be able to call 911 and no one will even know we've been killed. (Sounds crazy now but not so much then)
4:00 AM rolls around and I'm still wide awake. Finally Jordan wakes up a little and I comment on how bloody hot our room is. He suggests that I go turn on the air, which of course I say no because I'm the only one who knows about the killer. He rolls out of bed to turn the air on while I lay terrified in bed waiting to hear him scream. Well....a few minutes pass and he comes back in unharmed (thank heavens). Afterwards, I finally manage to fall asleep for a few hours.
The next morning he asks how I slept and I tell him I didn't go to sleep till after 4. He asks why and I tell him how I'm convinced someone is in the house. He told me he's checked all the rooms before we went to bed and there is NO ONE in the house. (Still I don't believe him). SO my sweet, adorable husband goes to the garage, grabs 2 golf clubs and says, "Okay Sarah, we're going to look in all the rooms, closets, and under the beds and I'll show you that nobody is here". So we looked through the whole house and......no one was there! Hahaha apparently I'm just paranoid, crazy, and have a ridiculous imagination. Oh well....maybe one day I'll grow up.

Give Thanks

A few of the many things I'm grateful for this year:
My husband! He's truly amazing! He does laundry, cleans the house (sometimes even the bathroom), helps me with anything and everything, listens to me, always makes me smile, and much much more! - and no I didn't even have to "train" him, be jealous! I'm so glad I get to spend eternity with my best friend!
My family! I don't know what I'd do without them. My mom cooks dinner for us just about every night, and the younger kids always provide the entertainment free of charge. I love them all so so much!

My job! It truly was an answer to our prayers. I couldn't have asked for a better one! I look forward to going to work every day instead of dreading it. I love this kid to death! I mean look at him....who couldn't love that cute face?

The temple! Every time I go, I'm overwhelmed with the love that I know my Father in Heaven has for me. I'm so glad I have the gospel in my life and I'm grateful for all the blessings I receive from it. I'm so happy I was able to be sealed to my best friend for time and all eternity here.

For my dad...I'm so grateful for the amazing example he was to me. I'm so glad that I know families can be together forever!

There are so many more things I'm grateful for, but frankly I'd rather be cuddling up in bed under the warm blankets than blogging....so HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Thanks for all of you who have made my life so perfect.
