western caribbean cruise

Last month we went on a cruise in the Western Caribbean with the Tripp's. We left out of Galveston, TX and flew in the night before our cruise left. We went and ate some delicious pizza at a pub and stayed the night at The Treemonton House.
We set sail on Sunday and got back the following Sunday. Our first stop was in Cozumel, Mexico. We got off the boat and found a little guy who said he'd take us to the Club Cozumel Caribe resort for the day. We were surprised by how nice it was. There was beach access, a pool, snorkeling, and a nice restaurant. We stayed there for the whole day and had a blast! Our favorite part was the snorkeling until I saw a barracuda, then it wasn't so fun anymore…We also found a guy who said we could pay $5 to take pictures with his birds. I thought we were getting ripped off, but I couldn't have been more wrong.

Our second stop was in Grand Cayman. We had heard that Stingray City was the best thing to do, so we had booked our excursion through Moby Dick Tours a few weeks before we left. It was probably the best decision we made. They were amazing! If you go to Grand Cayaman-they're the people to book through. They first took us snorkeling, then we headed over to Stingray City. I was TERRIFIED and it didn't help that the boys jumped into the water as soon as they could. Megan and I were left in the boat, but we finally got the courage to get in the water. The stingrays were HUGE and they were everywhere! I was afraid I was going to get stung by one (you know…that's how the Crocodile Hunter died) but I quickly learned how friendly these animals are. We got to hold, pet, and kiss them. We were told that by kissing a stingray, you get 7 years of good luck!

Our last stop was Falmouth, Jamaica. We had heard that this place was a little sketchy so we made sure to book our excursion through the cruise ship just to be safe. We went to the Green Grotto Caves and Dunn's River Falls. The caves made me a little claustrophobic, but they were really cool! We got to wear a really attractive hair net and helmets. We looked REAL good! Our favorite part of Jamaica was Dunn's River Falls. It was AMAZING! It's 900 feet of waterfalls that you climb. You start at the bottom by the beach and climb  your way to the top. There are natural water slides and little pools to jump into along the way. None of us really thought ahead and brought water-shoes, so we bought some super dorky ones in Mexico. We were glad we did because it was super slippery!

There were a few days when we were at sea, but we stayed entertained. Our ship had basketball courts, volleyball courts, mini golf, a rock climbing wall, and a Flowrider. At night there we tons of fun things to do. Some of our favorites were karaoke and the comedy club. There was never a dull moment. We ate too much, laughed too much, and had too much fun! It was our favorite vacation to date! Thanks Meg + Wes for making this trip the best one ever!
